Default The Real Reason for Cantabrian Circle

I beleive that the real reason HA's used CC has been missed. I believe that MTW1 had it right with accuracy penalties for lack of direct LOS, and I propose that the main reason for the Cantabrian Circle was to increase accuracy by giving each individual HA a momentary direct line of sight, as well as to give the individual a brief break from the exertion of drawing such a heavy bow, during the phase where he was circleling away from the target, and extending his stamina. I think CC should improve accuracy, not reduce it. It should also increase the riders stamina by not reducing his rate of fire, even though the horse is tiring.

Actually all the horse mounted archery in CA games annoys me. What is HA by the way?

    its a skirmishing formation,

designed to encirle a larger enemy encompletly, to find gaps and overwhelm.
Imagine a cohort of romans in hevay army and large shields facing against archers, they use there shields and charge to defend themselves in one direction and advance.
now imagine the archers circle around them, firing from every direction, the cohort can not defend from evrey direction, being surounded and fired upon from everydircetion, would take increased casulties as well as panic, eventually route and then be cut down down by the hA charging or some near by heavy cav.

the game engine is not capable of showing it off correctly, but its been devestating well into late ninteenth century.

Its like a cat, stalkiing a rat,
The cat doesn't just go for the kill
its about disorienting and terrorising, playing with the rat its prey stricking from all directions but not trying to kill,
until the rat, exhausted and terified, bleeding from a thousand wounds
just rolls over and passivly waits to Die.

At which point the cat walks away, leaving the mouse helpless and confused
