    Hello guys, Wayne Rooney here

In between England matches here in South Africa, I play Napoleon Total War.

    My system

    4 GB of RAM
    3.4 GHz Quad Core AMD
    260 gtx core

I can run most games at full settings, including this one. However, when I increased the unit size using a modification (160 increased to 400 men per foot line regiment) the game drastically slowed down. Lots of chop and lag.

I'm curious which part of the computer governs the capacity for having lots of guys on screen? I like big battles and would love to run a game with 1000's of men on it.

Is it RAM, the CPU, or the Vid card?

    Thank you!

Hey, that half assed system cost me a pretty penny!

Thank you for your advice, I'll try upgrade my RAM then. I can trade in this video card and get the next model up by just paying the difference, but i'm pretty happy with this 260 so far.

That graphic card isn't exactly "yay" tbh.

    I would rather go for a x2 4890,5890 or 5870x2

Radeon is soo much better then nVidia imho

I'd go on 2-4 more RAM, and a video card later.

This game hardly uses more than 4g, this was actually designed for a 32 bit system.

The card and the unknown processors are the upgrades that he should do.

Aside that this should be in the tech forums

Performance rests on a weak video card. To play with the "big battalions" of the video card needs at least GTX 285 or ATI 5850.
