I am not sure if I have it right but I think I read somewhere several months ago that the RTR team is considering creating a mod with the M2TW engine in the future. If I remember correctly there was a mod with screenshots somewhere. Is it true?
M2 in future: likely...
Screens: we're working on RTR VII for RTW atm... No time for anything else

I have heard of such a mod, but I don't know what it's called. But it is looking likely that we will go over to M2.

That would be the most awesome thing that could happen to medieval 2. I'm blown away when it comes too how great FoE looks (huge units, max settings), and in medieval 2 it will probably look like real-life. Finally both RTR and EB in medieval 2![]()
In my opinion the units don't look much better in MTW2 compared to FoE/RTRVII (some unit models have enough polys so far). The atmosphere is a little bit more realistic and the animations are a bit better. And of course you have more opportunities to have different unit- and face designs in one unit.
It's quite too early to talk about an MTW2 mod and I'm sure you'll like RTR VII...
Thats half our thought process
Please take this lightly and dont go around quoting me, but RTR team is very much considering a move to M2TW. We have done some testing for some new features and we like how things are working out right now. However, at the moment we are devoting most (probably around 97%) of our time to RTR VII. So the wait for the new M2TW might be substantial.

Hehe, you'll have to wait a bit, though![]()

Better change that to 99+ %![]()
To be fair, there has been a bit of research. CoS has me researching the Hellenistic Kingdoms. If anyone wants a good read on the Seleucid economy, read this
Re the units: I did see some awesome units for M2. Hopefully we can find people to make ones of that quality![]()

Hehe, we'll get things sorted between us
(though I would point out that one of the main advantages is in modelling, and neither Tony nor I are currently capable of anything like that)

I think Pat and I need some cough medicine
Yes, the third individual is very skilled indeed
@CC, I think the M2TW modders have more modelers from what I've seen. Im sure we can find someone to help us, and or someone will have to go through a tutorial![]()

Now you have me confused... everyone here knows ZL is working for us - or is it someone else?

Ok guys, enough with the speculation. Yes, M2 is being looked at as a platform. Unless something unanticipated happens we'll be moving there when we're done with RTR VII. Hopefully by that time the secrets of creating buildings for M2 will be fully revealed, because without that there's not much point in undertaking the conversion.

actually, according to the EB2 FAQ the settlement files have now been cracked and it will be possible to make the cities appear ancient on the battle map. here is the direct quote from the EB2 FAQ;
"Q: Will settlements/forts/etc look Medieval or Ancient?
A: The settlement files have now been cracked and it is possible to import new buildings into MTW2 for the battle map. There are other areas of the mod we need to focus before we touch this area, though."
That will be very likely. They're making some good progress on that![]()
I have seen the same. Don't worry, we have at least half an eye on the progress![]()
