Tester: Pheonix (xXx Soldier Of Fortune xXx)
Modification in Testing: Roma Surrectum 2
Specific Test Focus: None Given, used Rome Campaign as Default.
Problems/Bugs Faced:
- Daoi Elite Infantry Texture not found, caused CTD each battle with them in and had to quit my Rome campaign because of it.
- Carthage still has quite weak naval forces and are easily defeated by a determined Roman effort.
- Greek AI makes dozens of individual fleets of one ship each, but are commendably tough when fighting on land.
- Upon the Macedonian Diplomat event on the Roman campaign, the Macedonian don't send sufficient troops against you until you assault Edessa, not sure if they are supposed to be scripted to re-create Philip's attack against Roman forces there.
- Roman economy possibly too strong, making 60,000 a turn with five or six stacks in play plus two stacks of Naval units (This with 3 Iberian Provinces along the East Coast, all of Italy up to Genoa, Apolliana and Dyrachium, Sardinia, Corsica and Sicily except for Syracuse).
- Land battles seem to last for ever, soldiers get tired too quickly and so when locked in combat it takes forever to destroy the other, and morale seems too strong.
- "Heartless Ruler" Trait too easy to attain, creates economic problems.
Mod Strengths:
- First 5 Turns as Rome are very inventive and difficult, although the Roman Rebel armies are very poor.
- Battle of Lake Trebia as an Ambush is very inventive.
- Lots of choice and details in the new economy system.
- New character traits and buildings add immersion.
- Highly historically accurate and well-researched.
Next Steps:
Unless I receive orders from you the Development team, I will probably play as either the Free Greeks, Carthage or Macedon. Will report my findings when they become apparent.
