NTW out of action since the patch

Since the latest patch (the one that changes the colour of the menu screen to a garish red) I've been unable to get the game to run properly.

With the TROM 2 mod enabled it crashes to desktop during the load process, with all mods disabled it runs to the first end of turn and then crashes. So, its back to ETW for me until someone sorts out the mess.

Uninstall all mods and verify the game cache. That should solve any problems

Can you explain the procedure for verifying the game cache, its not something I've come across on any other game, most seem to just work?

Also I'm curious is there anyway to go back? The more I hear about this patch the less I like the sound of it.

Go to your Library on steam, right-click on Napoleon: Total War, select properties, then click on Local Files.
Then click on Verify Integrity of Game Cache, and wait for it to finish. It can take a while.

90% of the mods (mod packs and movie ones) don't work with new patched and must be updated.

Yeah I agree why change the color to red ... we might have a spanish campaign but it is still NTW so they should have stuck with blue which looked better.

I kind of liked you could immediately know it had loaded properly.

And red is the color of blood too.

Also be sure to clear out any leftover mod app data in your NTW folder / via -Start>Run>appdata>Roaming>thecreativeassembly>NTW
