Is it possible to bring Elephants to Europe?

Im currently playing as Sweden and am doing quite well, And i was wondering, if i took over a area in India is it possible that i could throw a bunch of elephants on a boat and bring em to help me conquer Europe?

You can't train elephants as an european faction. Only the marathas can do it.

But the answer would be yes. As france, i just cleaned out India, and i'm using my Comapgnie Indiene infrantry to wipe russia out of turkey and so.

They should have made elephants a locally trainable unit.

Playing Maratha, I had elephants in Europe and the New World. I don't remember, but I don't think they were recruitable there. I vaguely recall ferrying replacement elephants to my armies.

You can only build elephants in India. Ah..... I remember those guys. A nice experiment (when I raised the first elephant regiments the Mughals are already dead) against Persia. They are a tragedy to Europe..... Always use them for close-range charges...devastating.

It's been a while since I played as the Marathas, but I do recall creating generals in Europe who would ride on elephants. I don't recall if there was a unit I could recruit in the recruitment pane but possibly a general's bodyguard or something.

I don't think it's possible to do it as a non-Maratha faction.

The Marathans' Generals Bodyguard is Elephant musketeers, and they can be recruited all over the world, provided you have the money needed (since they require no special buildings, there are no restrictions).

Yep. That's the answer. Just recruit a mob in Europe and mass-spawn stacks of generals. (Which is considered cheating by me , but actually is CA's little game bug to give you instant cav support)

Yep, and it is actually quite unfair, since the only real threat to elephants are artilley. So take care none the less.

it's not that hard to mod them in, you'd just have to play around with the groupings and the recruitment area....though. It my darth version of the ottoman team's ottoman realism I allowed all eastern factions to recruit elephants. Playing as MAratha is way too easy and their roster's a bit bland, much more fun to play the ottomans, thus the reason to share the elephant wealth
