The Great Freezing Of Spring 1533

Hey all

I recently got Shogun to work after an arduous journey through the net searching for solutions, then when the game is working I come across a new problem.

When I get to the transition through Winter to spring 1533 the game freezes, Its very fustrating and I cant seem to find a way to fix it.

Any thoughts?

Im running it on Vista which is probably the first reason why it doesnt work ha ha.

Still id appreciate any solutions.

Hi Fattsanta,

My guess would be a corrupted save – it happens. It sounds like one. Try going back at least
some 5-6 turns and try again from there. It might very well solve it – it is worth a try.

Anyhow, this thread doesn’t belong here since it is both a tech-issue and a pure STW-matter.

Not a corrupted save, but the infamous "death poems" crash. I'm afraid this is an audio codec problem. It always occurs at 1533 for the Shimazu and at other dates for different clans. If you have any codec packs installed, remove them and set Windows Media player as the default for handling all media files.

Some have reported success using only the CCCP codec pack instead: http://www.afterdawn.com/software/au...odecs/cccp.cfm

I've not tried this myself as I'm fortunate enough to have never once had this problem.
