You mean uniform editor... right?
yeah its not a unit editor
its is a uniform editor where you might change some colours or even swap parts.
But there never were any modding tools, they just used an easier to edit format.......so the modding tools have never been in any other place. Seriously, not even ROME had modding tools.
Although the uniform editor wasn't all that interesting to begin with, So I don't really mind.
I was craving for the uniform editor because many things included in the game did not match my expectations. So I was hoping to change these little problems myself without fiddling around with the textures of the game itself, which I did with empire just for some mediocre results. So please give do give us what you promised CA! Or have you become politicians now?!
If you like the picture of my woman, GIVE ME REP!!!!
Mod tools were promised prior to ETW's release but CA never delivered on their promise and instead went ahead to work on NTW. A uniform editor was promised prior to NTW's release but CA never delivered on their promise and instead went ahead to work on Shogun 2. The analogy is striking.
Oh my... and people wonder why i have trust issues with CA...
I was just about to start my own thread asking this same question. I thought for sure it would be released with final patch/Peninsular Campaign. Makes me wonder if they really are going to release it...
Until now I thought they would stay true to their word, now I'm beginning to think it may end up like those mod tools for ETW we're still waiting on....![]()

The question is do we need a uniform editor? It seems to me everyone want new uniforms but is unwilling to try themselfves...
Its pretty simple to do, we have the tools which are all free and in two days you could knpow everying needed to make a major mod such as NOW or Eic or TGWM.
If they do bring out a uniform editior, I bet my shilling that it'll be released kinda like the mulitplayer beta was for Empire, right towards the end and buggy !
Never trust british promises.
Seriously there is still chance it will be released when there will be no more planned dlc's for napoleon to milk customers with.
That would be not so bad.
Der Schlaf der Vernunft gebiert Ungeheuer
Why? What makes them any different from other corporations who intend to make as much profit as possible, other than the fact that they are 'British'? Please don't tell me this is about Beyond Petroleum..
Oh, and the lack of a Uniform Editor is tasting really sour in my mouth as well, but at the end of the day; we are powerless to do anything about it really. We should just become complacent! They will treat us however they want, at the end of the day most of you will still buy their products anyway!

To be honest, this whole thing is pissing me off.
CA should really give us at least a little update on it, they know we're waiting for it and they know we want it.
Now, to all the people about to say "Well they don't have to say anything legally"... i don't care, it's just manners really.
To all the people who say "i don't care, i don't need a uniform editor" good for you, would you like a congratulatory pat on the back and a certificate in a frame? I'd LIKE a uniform editor as would plenty of other people, we're not asking for your opinion.
And finally, to the people who say "it's never coming"... i'm sorry but you're boring, there is always a bunch of people who say that... it's just an annoyance.
The fact of the matter is, they promised a uniform editor which was even advertised on multiple sites, sure they never gave an exact date but maybe if they took 5 minutes out of their busy days bribing reviewers to give us a small update... then we'd all be alot happier.
Even the Wikipedia article about NTW states that the unit editor is not only coming but included in the game. Exhibit A: "In addition, Napoleon: Total War contains several new multiplayer features, such as a uniform editor and a voice command utility to speak to other players via Steam. Unlike previous Total War titles, there is now the option for a "drop-in" multiplayer campaign mode: when playing a campaign against the computer, it is possible to allow another user to join via a lobby and take control."
