Private messaged by an admin?

I recived a private message from a "steam community admin" He said I could go to some website and get 1 free steam game. I exited the chat because I thought It might be a scam. Did I do the right thing? also shoudl I change all my passwords, recovery questions, ect?

There is alot of that around if you didnt click the link then u will be fine, u did the right thing from what ive seen all of these are scams to hack your account. I clicked a link to imageshack on a tournament site and it was full of trojan viruses.

i get some guy telling me he is greek, and he knows a website to download battlefield bad company 2 from steam.i told him i have it on the ps3.then he stopped being so talkative.when i pressed him, he apparently forgot how to write english.

any time someone offers you something for nothing, it's a scam.

I've had that happen. This person sent me a link to the "steam store"(thats what it looked like to me) He said "LOL' "HAHA" "Funny" The page asked for me to log in, but seeing as I was allready logged in I was not stupid enough to reenter my info.
