it is sad you would not join my lords cause, many who shall gain rank in this crusade would be elevated to greater daemon by my lord tzeentch... i believe i counseled horus with the same offer but he denied my lords request and lost the oppoutunitie to stand at my lords right hand... that space is still open for one such as yourself

Well technically the Astonomican would still work. It is not powered by the big E. He keeps the warp gate under Terra shut. It is the thousands of psykers which fuel the Astronimican.

The Astronomicon would eventually dry up as the current psykers powering it die, the planet of Terra would also be engufled in a Warp Storm as the forces of Hell literally explode forth from the Imperial Dungeon bringing the reality of the Warp with them. Also Humanity would probably lose control of Terra permanently. So even if they found a way to get them there the planet is no longer under Imperial control. Plus without the Big E, as you so beautifully call him, Humanity would lose the ability to soul bind psykers which means the spiritual wards the Emperor puts over their minds can't be done and they can't be sanctioned.
