    Because CA are Nazis..... nah not really. I don't quite know, would've been a great focal point on the battlefield to take an eagle.

    @Captain Grimes,

    Well, Did any Napoleonic battle feature capturing "eagles" in real life?

    I'm not sure. I've never heard of any such thing. Maybe CA will (re?)-introduce them back in.

    Rome Total War had eagles because there IS actual historicity behind the Aquila or Eagle, in English, as a mark of status for a particular legion.

    Napoleon didn't give out "Eagle" awards like the Prussian Cross or the Purple Heart (As examples.)
    BTW, this is NOT meant to insult your intelligence. It's just that I don't know how else to word pins given for merit, loyalty or courage in battle other than "awards."

    Lieutenant Gazan, riddled with blows and wounds, finally left the eagle in Masterson’s hands, the only unhurt combatant of the English group which had initially attacked. Raising his trophy, he shouted to his companions: "Bejabers, boys, I have the cuckoo!

    @Grimreapo,

    OOPS! Indeed..the Francais did use Eagle standards.

    Wow....I thought it was only in movies or something.

    I stand corrected sir!

    Ahh the age old question. It really would make things cool, especially with the fancy lighting effects, you could see it shimmer gloriously in the sunlight as it is carried forward to victory!

    it would add something to the game perhaps a morale debuff like "lost the colours" or something, might make melee charges viable.

    Accually, the eagles were considered the most important part of the army. The French treated Eagles in War like Christians treat Jesus.

    Infact, 9 times out of 10, the flags was removed and the eagle was just carried into battle. And losing and eagles was the biggest dishonour you could get.

    Here are some edited NTW images with an eagle added and showing fights for it.

    No, it's not a mod, just creative artwork I'm afraid...
