    Default BI or Alex?

Okay so I've been watching everyone's reports the past week or so and it looks like the AI is much better/smarter in BI and Alex compared to normal RTW. My question is, if I am to buy one of them, which one is better? I know this is purely opinion but let me hear the pros and cons of both of them please!

    Thanks

In other mods BI is better for naval invasion, ships, ordes and so on. ALX is better for Battle-AI. In RSII problem with ships and naval invasion is solved, so ALX is better at all

both naah I'd say BI, I really liked the swimming in battles, it makes it much harder. Although I prefer ancient history over medieval-late roman history I played BI WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more than ALEX so....

Just the fact that the AI can retrain units with alex is enough to make it the best exe. to use.
Add to that a better naval invassion AI, better BAI and CAI there isn't that much of a question.

    Okay, follow up question...

I've been looking at prices for Alexander, and there is one on ebay for $13 that includes Rome Gold Edition and Alexander expansion. Strangely enough I've not found any copies of Alexander itself that are cheaper. Now my question is this; is there any benefit to having BI in addition to Alexander or should I take this deal as is?

Well in that respect it allows you to test both of them out and see which one you like for yourself but in the end its up to you. I have vanilla and BI but I'm thinking about tracking down a standalone copy of Alex due to the different AI.

I don't know about the naval invasion thing and it's limitations with BI in RS2. In my current campaigne, I noticed a Ptolemaic naval invasion against Sparta, not with the small, indifferent armies you are used to see in BI, but a full scale invasion, so strong that it actually crushed Sparta itself!

@ Velico: Take the deal! having them both is best. ALEX is better for AI, but some really cool mods use BI so...

    Yes.

I'd say take them. As said by someone else, there are noce mod for BI, and an extra RTW copy and CD key can't be bad.
