    Multiplayer


    • 3 new land battle maps added.
    • Various drop-in battle UI locks fixed.
    • Chance of drop-in battles has now been increased.
    • Fixed the issue where the Skill rating at the end of a ranked battle is 0 for both players.
    • Added drop in battle / quick battle selection panel to frontend.
    • Random clients being kicked when multiple users access a multi-player game has been resolved.
    • Unlimited money cheaters will now be dropped from game lobbies.
    • Multiplayer battle stats now update after playing a historical battle.
    • Multiplayer campaign victory conditions now scroll down correctly in the game settings panel in the Front End.
    • Fixed an issue with enemy ships sunk statistic not updating correctly in the frontend.
    • Fixed an issue in the multiplayer campaign where the AI attacks a players town and the Pre-Battle buttons are greyed out.
    • Fixed a crash caused when ESC pressed whilst game is synchronizing for a drop in battle.
    • Host names are now shown on a drop-in battle invitation.
    • Fixed an issue where the chat box fades away and cannot be brought back, after a time of inactivity.
    • Fixed an issue in multiplayer campaign where France and Ottomans where able to engage in diplomacy with each other in the Egyptian campaign.
    • Fixed an issue where after a naval game has finished, selecting "swap sides" and playing another game results in the second results screen appearing with incorrect nations.
    • Fixed an issue where in multiplayer campaign election results alert appears twice when one player holds an election.
    • In fort battles during the deployment phase the mini-map no longer displays buildings that are occupied by an opponent.
    • Units hidden in houses are no longer given away by the cursor when moused-over.
    • Fixed issue where player names were not showing up in the player list in drop-In battles.
    • The French flag is now correct in the player list during a land battles in the Italian multiplayer campaign.
    • The chat and player list boxes can be no longer be dragged so far off the screen that they are impossible to recover.



    EDIT:
    Here's a short video showing the new maps (don't expect too much )
    Some more changes I noticed when playing (to be continued?):
    - the game browser now allows to filter out games in progress! Yay!
    - artillery now has 4 guns in Large unit size setting.
    - grenades seem to have been buffed.

    does this fix apply solely to peninsular mp,or branch into the general mp as well?

    thankyou for the heads up, just saw my steam page come up with the update.hopefully this will go some way to improving the online MP experience.good to see creative assembly still have current customers in mind even with shogun 2 coming up next year

    Sounds good so far.
    Hopefully Spain and Portugal get some more units... this would be a good reason to buy the dlc. They anounced 28 new units, but not a word if their will be available in MP. Some infos on this?

    Well I didnt get the DLC, and the Spain roster still looks pretty meagre.
    But I guess it's like with Warpath, you only get the units if you buy the DLC.

    Oh, and: the "Large" unit settings now have 4 guns artillery units.

    !!! Seriously?! That's surprising! I remember back in the Empire multiplayer forums Jack Lusted told us that no patch would ever change unit sizes as it would mess up people's campaigns. Has this been changed for howitzers and cannons both? Did pricing change?

    These changes should make people happy as well:
    -The square formation cannot be selected while in melee anymore.
    -Howitzers and Unicorns damage, accuracy and blast radius have been reduced slightly.
    Oh, and could anyone post up some info/screenshots of the new maps?

    I think it's cannons and howitzers both.
    Pricing changed in general, many of my saved army setups are too expensive now (I do appreciate pricing changes for balancing, but they could at least mark the invalid armies in red).

    For you, anything.
    Encoding a flyover video, should be up within an hour.

    First impression: I really like them, discouraging camping and they don't feel too artificial.

    the "no square while in melee" is pretty significant to most people i would think.makes timing the formation a lot more crucial.

    No worries, my work computer actually doesn't have any sort of speakers so I couldn't hear anything anyways . You've got me wondering what I'm missing now though, so I'll have to re-watch the video when I get home...

    The new maps look great. It's just like a discussion we had on the forums a while back, where many of us had a desire for more 'natural' maps. These new maps seem to fit the bill perfectly, cannot wait to try them out! Thanks again for the preview.

    now all my charts have to be remade, and all my armies will have to be thrown out.

    but i do not mean to complain too much, i'm glad they are patching the game and continuing to make balance tweaks.

    Just had a few games and the square thing is nearly the same as before... if they changed something, its just a bit. I guess, if you have a good timing, you will think nothing has changed. I dont mind that.

    if they gave portugal cavalry without making other adjustments, they will be OP. i haven't started NTW yet so i don't know, but the reason proto had no cav before was (i assume) due to their blatent advantages in shooting across the board.

    Didnt play them, just faced them. They have the needed Guard, Walloonian or something. Lanceros = Lancers too... i guess soon we will know more.
