im sure this has been asked a million times but i couldnt find it so what is sapping?

Units with sapping ability can be used for the tunnel project when it comes to sieges.

basically when you are besieging a city, you have the option between building a ram, ladder, siege tower or a sap point. A sap point is a fancy word for an entrance to a tunnel that digs up to the enemy wall and makes it go boom. units with the SAP trait are units capable of operating these points. I advise low quality you do not care about like peasants, because archers are capable of burning down the tunnel entrance with fire arrows leaving any men inside to die of starvation. added to that tunnel digging makes your units as good as exhausted. Hence, peasants are a good option. no one gives a about them for starts and you were going to use them to draw archer fire if they didnt up anyway.

Yes. Feelings of patriotism which we ruthlessly exploit by putting them in front of our MP armies in loose formation to draw enemy ammo.
