    Default EB and Windows 7

I'm a big fan of this mod since the first beta was released. Today I thought it would be great to play another campaign and I installed the game. Unfortunately I upgraded to W7 a few weeks ago and now I can't start the mod. I tried compatibility version and admin rights, but I cannot make it run.

    Help, please?

Please give me a specific error description, then we can fix that together!

Also, are you using the CD version, or the Steam version to run EB?

EDIT: I have EB running on Win 7, so I could probably help out.

I run EB on Windows 7 fine, no problems. Installed Rome, installed EB, and play with the Trivial Script. Simple. Of course I use Steam so I don't actually run the game using Trivial Script. I only use Trivial Script to switch EDUs between MP and SP.

To play I just make a shortcut to steam executable on my desktop (that steam.exe found in steam folder) and make the following shortcut:

    C:\Steam\Steam.exe -applaunch 4760 -show_err -nm -mod:eb

You shouldn't ever be sorry for posting a question. You should only be sorry for not posting a question. Remember: there can be (and usually are) others who do or will have the same problem you have right now. The answers that help you may also help them...

I have Windows 7 and I run EB, RTR and it's offspring (FOE, IC) and RS, all without any problems and without any tweaking.
"We can't bust heads like we used to, but we have our ways. One trick is to tell them stories that don't go anywhere. Like the time I took the ferry to Shelbyville. I needed a new heel for my shoe so I decided to go to Morganville, which is what they called Shelbyville in those days. So I tied an onion to my belt, which was the style at the time. Now to take the ferry cost a nickel, and in those days, nickels had pictures of bumblebees on them. Give me five bees for a quarter you'd say. Now where were we, oh ya. The important thing was that I had an onion on my belt, which was the style at the time. They didn't have white onions because if the war. The only thing you could get was those big yellow ones...."

Hi! I've recently installed RomeTW (Gold)+EB on my laptop (Win7 64-Bit) to kick some roman ass.
But i can make my laptop run the game only frequently: It works fine, but when i get a CTD (which happened only once so far) or when i have to quit and then later try to start EB again it doesn't work. No error pop-ups, it just won't start.
When i reboot my laptop EB starts without problems.
While it is not the end of the world to reboot, it is bit annoying...
Fixes installed, running it as admin
    Ideas anyone?

    Thank You

When it crashes and it won't let you restart it, try opening up the task manager with Ctrl, Shift and Esc. Go under processes and look for the RTW exe or whichever one you use, and end the process. This should probably work. A lot of the time when my firefox crashes or something, the process will keep going, even if it doesn't seem like the program is running at all. Then if you try to start firefox, it won't do anything at all. It might be the same thing, I don't know.

It could have something to do with the games cache, maybe it isn't dumped rightful. Did you install it under Program Files? If yes, move it away, that can cause troubles.

I personally have it on program files folder and have no problems so far. I am currently using windows 7. Windows Vista, which I used before, will indeed cause problems with your install. I've had games that refuse to pass beyond a certain turn.
