Button Pushing?

    Default Button Pushing?

I havn't seen a thread about this yet, do you guys think it's wrong? When I say button pushing I mean that as soon as the battle load you click the "End Deployment" button to start the 60 second countdown. The other day I played an ANV guy and clicked the button, he promptly rage quit, then kicked me before I could tell him that I would give him time to deploy.

Here's why I think it's ok. I don't click it to get any tactical advantege over my opponent, I just want to get to the battle without waiting for hours.

I normally finish deploying in 20-40 seconds after I click it (although some times I can take up to a full minute. If my opponent were to click it also and we both start in our defalt spots I'm ok with that, because armies can move after deployment dispite what the Hemorroids tell you. ANd I find that the people who spend a ton of time making every unit in the perfect spot often timesd don't want to move after all that work.

I also try not to click in during clan battles as a matter of respect, and to give them time to talk. Also I do not click it if the host says he's got to go to the bathroom for a second or in such cases. But during every day battles I see no problem with button pushing.

Tell me what you guys think, If you can convince
that it's wrong then I will change my ways

    discuss!

I just speed up my rate of deployment if someone presses the "end deployment" button. It's pretty easy to deploy twenty units in sixty seconds anyway.

I dont think people should rage quit but out respect i usually just let my opponent click when he's ready. when im ready i just say - i'm ready glhf

I take about 20 minutes to finish deploying because of my constant asthma attacks But, overall, there should be no rush in a match you already anticipated would happen.

So my vote is on it's wrong, but either way, the 60 second countdown kinda brings you down to Earth on how fast you should deploy.

I bet the pressure of those sixty second countdowns horrifficly adversely affects your breathing condition, Asthma Kid.

OMG you have no idea!!! Thats not even the worst of it!! The 10 second count down usually gives me nose bleeds and when the match finally starts, I usually faint. Even my opponent notices that im not moving at all and it didn't look like camping, so lucky for me, he tracked my account and called 911 for me.

Thanks so much Whooping Cough Boy...I owe my life to you

    no problem at all Asthma

ironically, after a 58 second coughing fit i actually vomited on my mouse, keyboard and screen just as the game started. . by sheer chance - as I do get confused from watching to many US TV shows - i dialed 911 instead of 000. In australia 000 is the number i call to get the fire brigade come over to hose off my vomit.

but im not supprised that the ambulance turned up at your place given i called 911 - i understand health services in both the us and aust are looking at steam chat to deliver medical assistance over the internet

after i cleaned some chunky bits away off my screen I noticed i couldnt select or move the 20 howitzers in front of me so i had to rage quit the game.

It wasn't until later I realised I only actually had 19 howizters, so I think my screen must have scrolled forward and stopped at your deployment zone because of the vomit on the mouse or arrow keys.

i had well and trully left the game when the ambulance arrived at your place.

so at least they did the right thing and saved you so they could invoice you for 20 thousand us dollars for the call out fee.

what i like to do is hit the deploy button as soon as the battle loads- even before i ve deployed my own units.

This is to rush the other player, and to give him the impression that i am not deploying my units strategically.

    This. It's a valid tactic.
It contains a risk as well: if your opponent presses his Ready before you are finished, you are left with a disorganized setup.

i think ticking up straight away is kinda noobish and i find its mainly new players who tend to do this

Anyone can can deploy there units in 60sec anyway and even if you dont its not hard to put all your pieces in place after the game starts.
I just find it a bit rude and arrogant,i also find the people who do it tend to be noobs or douchebags who think its some sort of good way to throw people off there game and really most experienced players just think what a tool when it happens to them.

I click it when I'm deployed. And, unless the game is playing up, 60secs is more than enough to deploy an army. I like this addition to the game. I say people should do their talking before they ready up. There is already enough waiting around for a game as it is without being stuck waiting for someone to get their army just right. If someone asks for a little extra time I will oblige them but otherwise I figure its fair game.

Valkerie was known to do that constantly with his set build on the corner of the deployment in Empire Total War. Takes him only 6 seconds and then he clicks right away forcing his opponent to use quick micro speed like point man

Saw his match against Momento Mori on Youtube

Funny you should mention that, because I got this from Valk. He helped me learn a lot when I first started playing Empire online. And one of the few times I beat him was playing his own game, he clicked, and I clicked.... Then all hell broke lose and it was a mad scramble, him rushing to the flank and me serrounding him and firing, a close battle and we had a good laugh after it was done.

The 60 second rule is great, and I see no problem in clicking it straight away. I remember people doing this to me in etw, and whenever I clicked the button back at them they would whinge about being unready. Serious business.
