My little Empire has expanded nicely, but I fear that in my family tree I have only one child, who is only 1 years old - only a roster of middle aged men. Not even my Sultan has a son. What causes a lack of children among your royal family?

Even though this is a little old I thought I would put my two sense in since the Strategies Board is quiet. First off, Steven is correct in that the provinces-to-generals ratio is the cause. Even though I understand their intentions, I have always be upset that CA programed the game this way because I have turtle tendencies. I never really start going on the offensive until turn 50 or later, and even then I take my time. Unfortunately it puts you at a disadvantage when playing as factions such as the Moors or Russia because in my experience the best strategy is to first develop the economy and promote population growth in castles to get the best units in order to be on par with other armies.
Moors = West Virginia?
