bug when I try to connect to online battle

So, I've today faced a pb never faced before.
I chose multiplayer, then online battles ; I enter my surname (I've entered many surname to test if the pb was it), and nothing. I wait and wait and wait... no connection, just the sandwatch which turns...
I've re-entered the cd key, I'ven't hamachi, and yesterday I've played the same mod (ntw2) withotu any pb... So plz help me !

EDIT : no matter, the bug is now vanished... I don't know why, but it's after all GS !

It happend for me. 2 day i coudlnt play but after 3thday that worked, i donk know what happend.
Turn off and on your router maybe that pb will correct.

and a small piece of advice: GS sometimes declares cd keys invalid, so re enter your CD key as few times as possible. do not say you weren't warned. good luck with the connection issue.

Although i see your problem has vanished this is some advice which may help if you ever get any issues.

There are a few things that will help out rome as its dreadful with connections and behind some routers its a pain.

1.) Set a static IP address to your router, see here: http://portforward.com/networking/staticip.htm
2.) If you use windows firewall ensure that Rome total war is not blocked, depending on operating system this will be different but roughly the same anyway.

If that doesn't work then you may have to look at port forwarding on your router. This seems daunting but isn't really, select your router from this list: http://portforward.com/english/route...outerindex.htm
click the link then find rome total war and follow the guide.
