Icon4 Bizarre units behavior... or not?

    Hi folks,
Been away from DLV for a while now. I just installed 6.2 +BB2.7

Im having some problems, things i never noticed in my previous experiences with the mod.

First, playing England : besieged by rebels on turn 3. Didn't even had the time to train units yet. Oh well... I guess I'll restart.

During battle, I always put my Spearman on the wall on guard mode, waiting for the siege tower or ladders. My soldiers are standing right in front of the enemy, not flanking them. And as soon as the enemy charge the wall, my troops get totally decimated. I'm not just loosing the battle. My unit goes from 132 to 50 soldiers in like 10 seconds. It's like the AI needs the space on the wall to empty the tower so every units in the way get totally crushed without any resistance. Don't quite understand what's happening there.

Other thing : sometimes my bodyguards won't attack. No matter what i do. First they won't charge and if i move them by clicking on the field, so they ride right in the middle of the melee, they still won't fight. They stand right there, getting killed and not fighting back. And there's no fighting icon on the unit picture. Im I missing something?

    Thanks
    Good day!

    Hi frkhead,

1, Yes, it's a result of some of my changes to CAI along with scripting the removal of FoW. And I think you can lose Nottingham, it's a matter for battle to decide. This faction has previously been one of the easy ones.

2, Guard mode is often a bad idea in that circumstance. It reduces attack rate for the sake of cohesion. Cohesion on a wall doesn't really matter so much.

3, Never seen this. They attack when told to in my testing. Is this observation based on some specific instance? Can you describe the events around it?

    Thanks for your feedback

about wall thing, i had same problem few times, last nite with guard mode turned off, its like stampede, tho, at first, my muslim swordsmens on wall was normally fighting armoured sergants, and then at some point, since AI kinda ordered several units to use same leathers, they were just standing idle at first, and then they started rushing and running on the wall like mad, running over my troops.. They were not even fighting, just running them over, at last its how it seamed to me? Oo
Playing 6.2 without any mini mode or so btw

Same thing ... kind of happened to me, too. My Dismounted Hospitalier was standing in front of the small door on the wall which units use to get on the wall from the ground. A bunch of crappy troops rush from the ground and pour out from the door. My hospitalier dropped from 72 to 30 something in ... like 3 seconds. It's like a stampede.

Once I know it, I can exploit it though. Just keep my men away from the door, leave the AI some space. Then at the critical moment, double click behind the AI, as if my men is trying to rush right through the AI. My troops will be packed in and push the AI. Eventually, They'll flee
