Default Important announcement - Beta Testing

    Hello,

Welcome to all that have joined us and thanks to those of you that have volunteered your free time in order to get this game ready for release. Your time and commitment is appreciated.

Please understand though that this is a two way commitment between us. We have worked really hard to make this game as engaging, challenging and fun as possible. It's important that the gameplay is as strong as the graphics and that's really why you guys are here - in order to feedback about gameplay and help us do the last load of tweaking.

Your part is to report back to us on your ongoing campaign. Without doing that you've betrayed our trust, release is delayed due to lack of gameplay feedback and to be honest, it stinks. We've had a load of beta testers who've come in and basically run off with the game with not a word of feedback. Hopefully you guys are more mature than that and have got a value for honouring commitments.

Additionally, please leave all your experience of Rome Total Bribe (RS1.5/1.6) behind. RS2 is intended to be more challenging both economically and strategically. We want you to have to work to get your income and manage things wisely. Hard campaign should bring some nailbiting moments of "How on earth am I going to get out of this situation?"

So once again, thanks for all your input, and particularly to those that have been making regular campaign reports. We look forwards to more of the same!!

Hi tone and thank all of you i the team for your trust and the chance for us to play and contribute to this great mod! There will always be "that kind of people" but for the most part I'm sure that we testers feel a certain respect towards you - I myself would never think of such a dishonourable way of life...

I joined in yesterday, got the svn going very early this morning, but haven't been able to start "the Armenian mission" due to some trouble with the copied files. Perhaps I deleted to much of the vanilla files (don't think so, but who knows when you are dead tired), so I will do it over all again ASAP. Why? Only to be able to play/work/see it? A big part, yes, but another reason is that I don't want to ever be considered one of those betrayers...

    Hey Tone !

Firstly .. Like the other new beta testers have already posted - a Big thanks to you, Marcus and the rest of the dev team for allowing us to take part in helping out. I joined the other day and installed the RS2 beta last night.

Hopefully, we'll be a lot better and more thoughtful in helping you and the others in the dev team acheivie your goal!

First wee peek at the game was just jaw dropping. I've not started my Macedon campaign yet, as I thought's I start off by playing a number of custome battles and see how well my pc holds up. I'll be posting as much and as often as I can.

    Cheers

Please excuse my recent lack of participation!!! My job is VERY demanding and time consuming. However, I have not forgotten my obligation to the RS team and I will be posting reports on my current progress tonight and tomorrow, and whenever the opportunity presents itself in the near future.

I started a Seleucid campaign, a Roman one, and a Spartan one.

Sadly i havent been able to progress far in any as i have gone through a slight career change and havent had as much time as i used to. But all the things i had picked up earlier i have reported.

I dont want you guys to feel that i have come on as a beta tester to take off with the game. I have for small amount of time picked up a campaign and played a couple of turns, but i just havent found anything since my early posts to report, surely if i play more i am sure i can contribute more, so i must apologise for my lack of contribution of late.

I will do the best i can with the time i have. Hope that is ok with you guys.

Small observations made of RS2.... the spawning of armies when the enemy are about to be wiped out are very difficult to deal with, in my own mind and in campaign. Because it was odd when their population was only 500 left in a town, but somehow they were able to amass several armies of 2000+ troops in 6months. Especially when i had already reduce all their armies and population through endless slaughter. It is though an interesting challenge.

But i have really enjoyed the new tax based economy and battles, GREAT JOB! I am curious to see further developments with traits and the campaign map.

Thankyou, DVK & TONE & RS TEAM, I can appreciatte more now than ever the hard work and hours you put into this beautiful mod.

I tried to post yesterday but my posts weren't posted for some reason

I am also sorry for not participating much over the last two-three months I think... I already mentioned that I had some problems with my father and I was kinda banned from the internet. This month I also had to study for my exams (graduation and also collecting points to be accepted to faculty - I'm going to study ancient greek and latin and history ), so I couldn't post or test much... I guess I'll be able to go full speed in two weeks time or possibly even sooner, so if you need some more testing, I'll be glad to do so, and I hope I will be able to help you out in your future projects with testing and maybe even some research. Again, sorry for lack of feedback from my side.

Gee, I feel like crap now, since I've not been so active for some time due to exams..
Still, I haven't run off with the game yet,() so I loaded the Roman rebellion save from IrishGuy, started playing (a real challenge) and I'll soon start reporting again. Hope that strips some shame from me, as I realize this is a crucial time in RS II's development and noone really has that much 'free time', so I really have no excuse for not testing for so long.

I spent 4 nights to secure and do the safe emergency for an idiot jeweler who afraid to be attacked... (in France there is a wave of robberies against jewels) so sorry, I have not had time to test the mod this week.
release is delayed due to lack of gameplay feedback and to be honest, it stinks.
?? you think ?? For me its very good, except certain parts of the map where the vegetation is less developed and less beautiful (mountains / soil), I found everything else very good. I have not had time to test all the factions, but overall it's very good Boulo. What's wrong ?
