Default Editing Unit Stats in FOE

I've just been adjusting a few of the unit stats in FOE to my tastes and its going surprisingly well, but I was wondering, how do I adjust the Morale and Stamina of a unit?

I was also wondering how hard it would be to edit the building that currently give exp/higher weopon levels to missiles to reduce this, or replace it with something else, like morale bonusses?

I've atached the unit file incase anyone's interested/has any advice.

(I've been trying to make the battles play more like TIC.)

    Thanks, Birger.

Which is why the sacred band and carthaginian cavalry have the same armour stat despite the former having the linothorax and the latter a metal cuirass

For BirgerJarl, the stamina is dictated not by a number in general but by the attributes section. "hardy" and "very_hardy" gives the unit more stamina. Removing that from units reduces stamina. Stat_heat affects stamina in battle but only in how fast it reduces and that is wholley dependant on the climate the battlemap takes place in.

For example, a unit with a stat_heat of 5 will lose stamina at a much faster pace in the desert compared to a unit with a stat_heat of 0.

For morale, that is affected by stat_mental. The first number is the actual base morale the unit has. The word immediately after determines how fast that base number is reduced/recovered during battle.

Can't really comment on the buildings because I haven't tried modding them yet. What I can say though is that morale bonuses from buildings are apparently bugged and don't work.

Their very similar, but sheild wall is no longer used for hopelite phalanxes (wich I enjoyed playing with,) and also increased the unit sizes of some hopelite units to make them function better. Because of all the experience bonusses, ranged units are a lot more powerfull in FOE, so I've reduced unit sizes, I think (though I might be wrong) javelins are a couple of points more powerful, so I dropped them down to 5 as a base mark, and so far its seemed to work quite well. The main problem I suspect to run into is how the AI will recruit now that I've changed stats around (but hopefully it will meen that it will spam less light infantry due to lower atack values.) And also how a sheild wall formation works against a phalanx (and how the AI would react to this.)

Maybe comparing it to TIC was incorrect (appologies,) the unit stats in FOE are VERY good, and well done on the amazing job. I'm just editing a few things to fit my playstile better

    Thanks, Birger

@Carados, thanks for all the advice, should help a lot. Also just realised I dont know how to edit the speed of a unit to make it fast moving. Is there a way to do that?

You would have to change their animation, I think? This is also something I'm not familiar with at the moment.

hello little modders, if you want to search some 'stats' in the lists of units, or want to find the unit it would be usefull to use Ctrl H. This schould give you a little submenu, which you can use to find centrain words or letters/charachters. And So you can easy change these. Also can you change all the same letters/charachters and words in something what you preffer, with one button.

i hope that this is useful,
