Flickers on Sega screen

I just got Napoleon TW yesterday and it was the Imperial Edition. I have installed it but when i load it up it will flicker as soon as it gets to the SEGA part where it says stuff about the rights of the game e.t.c. It wont load up to the main menu and i can barley see anything basically i can see my desktop through the flickering. I can hear the music playing but thats it.

My computer isnt the best but it runs Medieval 2 TW and Medieval 2 TW Kingdoms fine.

Please help becuase i dont want to have to buy a new computer yet or trade this awesome looking game in

No, it means running 'dxdiag' - it will produce a window that shows various details. It's possible to 'save as' and then either attach it to your post or include it in your post (if you put in in the post I suggest that you include spoiler tags - go advanced and select the exclamation mark button on a red/brown background).

Okay i have done that Diag above. Thankyou for your help in learning me how to do that. Sorry if the diag is very long and some information is not needed i juust did what it said to do and copied everything. Hope this diag helps.

1. You have not updates XP to SP3. Youneed to run Windows Update manually and install all software options until it says there are no more updates.
2. This game has trouble with AGP cards as being slow when they work.
3. The Celeron cpu is not made for this kind of computing. It's made for office work.

All you can do is update all your drivers as much as possible, turn your monitor down to 800x600 if possible and try it.

I think ill just get a decent priced gaming computer if possible. Too be honest my computer has had its day and ive updated it alot. Ill try the screen resolution tip. Thanks for your help i really appreciate it.

Ok i got it to work by uninstalling it a few days ago and re-installing it. Sorry i did not post that i got it to work. However i cant play it again now becuase when i load the game it just freezes on the SEGA Screen where it tells you rights e.t.c. It will not then porceed from there and stops my PC. If anybody has any soultions please tell me Thankyou.

delete your mods and the ntw folder in the appdata

I have not used mods in the game so i cant do that. Please write some instructions on how to delete the NTW folder in "appdata"

press: windows key + r

type: %appdata%

Proceed to CA folder and delete the ntw folder.

Ok i have deleted the Napoloen Total War folder but it has not improved anything. I still have the same annoying problem.

i had a very simular problem when i first bought napoleon, i found out it was my graphics card that needed upgrading, i suject checking your specs and see if you need an up graded graphics card. i got one of the best out nvidia gforce 9800 as soon as i bought that it solved the problem, as long as your willing to fork out about £100

@kirk, he has a problem. Your 9800 and my 9800GT are pciex16 cards and his is agp. To upgrade he needs a new computer.
