    Default La Pandemia Papale

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
Picture this - its the 16th century. Europe is flourishing through trade and colonial expansion, and radical new technology like gunpowder has come to the scene only recently. Everything seems so perfect... until...

On a small merchant ship, arriving at the docks down the River Tiber from Rome, a New Threat has arrived. Not a Mongolian horde, or a new Jihad - no. This enemy is super small. A virus, that infects everything it comes into contact with, and turns its host into brain lusting human eating primatives. This is the newest mutation of the plague.

Sorry for that super movie-like intro, I came up with this idea a few days ago, and new developments have been coming to me since then. This IS NOT supposed to be a serious mod, or a total conversion mod. Basically, the situation is the Pope has gone crazy with plague, and him and the Papal states have been turned into zombies. You can play as them, and try and 'infect' the world, or play as one of the surrounding nations and try and quash the mutant uprising.

The map will focus on Italy and the surrounding areas, but the faction list will not be limited by this - I'm planning to do things like having emergent factions such as the Teutonic Order, who would obviously want to crush this new diesease.

The faction list would roughly be as follows (likely to change):

    - The Papal States (need a new name - something ZOMBIE)
    - The Kingdom of Sicily
    - Venice
    - Milan
    - The Republic of Florence
    - The Holy Roman Empire
    - The Teutonic Order (Emergent)
    - The Moors (areas of Sicily and North Africa)
    - Spain (on Sardinia?)
    - The Ottoman Empire (time period help anyone?)
    - France
    - The Inquisition as a faction?

(Possible factions also include England, the Mongols (as emergent), maybe the Byzantines (too late I think?) and perhaps, as this isn't historically accurate, the Aztecs as emergent )

I'm not really asking for help, although any people who are willing to help me part time would be greatly appreciated. I plan to do most of the coding and mapping myself (already started map), the units, with the exception of the Papal States, will largely be taken from vanilla (and maybe from other mods, with permission of course). I will come up with some new 'zombie hunter' units as well, to make it more interesting. The Papal States will be a trickier problem. New units for them will almost certainly need to be new models (which is where the plea for help comes in).

Feedback and ideas are greatly appreciated. Details can and will change, this needs a great deal of refining (at the moment it's quite ambitious for someone like me to undertake on their own), and I especially need help with a name (rough translation of 'the papal pandemic' from italian to english, but sounds a bit...). Apart from that, like I have said, this ISN'T supposed to be historically accurate, so no:

YOUR IDEA SUCKS!! THIS WOULD NEVER HAPPEN!!
posts if thats OK. More than anythin else, this is my attempt to make a full mod, so if you have discrepancies with the idea, that's fine. Send me a PM if you'd like to help out (any contributions are greatly welcomed)

    Thanks guys

Sorry, no progress due to lack of interest. May resurect later if I get bored. I guess it was a bit of a far-fetched idea

    Default Re: La Pandemia Papale

Wait wasn't there an anime about this where the Spanish Inquisition are a bunch of nuns/schoolgirls wearing miniskirts who sling cross-shaped throwing knives at the Papal zombies while getting into all sorts of suggestive postures?
