Hello, I wanted to ask if it's normal to loose Sauron's favour because I attecked an elven army besieging my town? I lost 3 ring for that!! So I thought that I wasn't cruel enough when I asked for ransom, so I went and attacked that army again and put their immortal elven life in ME to the end...I lost another 3 rings of favour so I lost all. Even war with an evil faction didn't cause such fail of favour....

What can I do now? if I want to be able commence so profitable invasions in future

Wel basically give him a golden ring without the powers but tell him you got it off of a small man. Thiss will increase your standing for a slight moment.

If I understand it correctly the problem comes from the fact that the two elven factions count as "orthodox" when it comes to their religion (aka culture) , even though the high elves are originally egypt and the silvan elves are orginally the mongols. This is also the reason why crusades aka. "evil invasions" against these factions are not possible.

I looked into descr_faction_standings but can't really find a line that backs up my theory, but still that's what would make sense imo.

For example if you look into /UI/greek you will find the elven buildings. So in the logic of TATW the factions that are possible to crusade against are those Sauron would approve to be killed off, but the elves are somehow not in this category. I don't really know why, maybe there must be an orthodox faction by default in a crusade scenario. Why the elves were chosen and not the dwarves or Dale I don't know (maybe because the elves share the same culture and have the same buildings).

I'd be interested in this too, maybe a dev could please drop a line here

sinister, i don't remember this, but are the other Nazgûl even family members? they might just be generals? If that's so, then you'll have to do some extradionary, and hope he get's man of the hour afterwards. (If that's even still in game).

I only found an entry in the standings for crusade, but the whole orthodox thing is only my theory, so far it's not been confirmed by the devs.

Ok, you were on a crusade, that's important. In this case try outcommenting this section in factions standing and look if the reputation still drops.

That kind of stuff should have been removed, I think it's in the descr_faction_standings.txt file. Not sure though.

Was your army on an Invasion at the time? I hear that Sauron doesn't like it if an Invading army does anything other than attack the city that the Invasion is called on.

Yes it was an invasion army led by one of my Nazghul, but another my invasion army led by Witch King slaughtered few Eriador armies and took Fornost without any problems. I think it could be that faction problem with cultures..nvm

hmm I have another question if you don't mind when Witch King dies (of course he can't die! ) another Nazghul has title of Faction Heir but he's not crowned...instead of it some of my inferior fat orc commander takes the place of Fac. leader. Is some possibility how to prevent that?
