    Default Sound Card Issue

I've been having this issue with my sound card for a few months now. Whenever I'm doing something that uses a lot of my computer's power (I guess), the sound that it puts out will come with a crackling noise along with it. The more I'm doing, the louder the crackling noise becomes. This happens mostly when I'm playing games with good graphics. I contacted Gateway support, since they are who my warranty is with, and they have no idea what is wrong, so I will have to send it in for repairs which will take several weeks.

I just want to make sure you guys don't know of a possible solution, since my warranty runs out in August, I'd have to send it in over summer, and that would suck having to use my old computer for that long while I'm on summer vacation.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

    Sounds Like

Your computer CPU is under heavy load.

you can try lowering the Sound Accelerator down a notch.

    or try reducing your services.

i hope this is of any help, i would try the latter first, if that fails the do the sound accelerator.

Another little tip, never set your processor above normal, mucks up with I/O responce time.
Will cause stutters, and will reek havoc with lag issues online for other players.....

    Anyhoo best of luck
