Default RS II: performance and economy

Just have a few out of the mold questions
    1) how does it run, on what rig, and how bad is AI turn length with huge units size?

    2) I've read the economy system is made to slow down the 0-turn recruitment horror from RS1. Was the game beta tested with 1-turn.?

    Thanks for the answer

There are forests in Armenia? I kid of course

As far as I have read in the beta forum 1-turn has not been tested much. I have not tested it myself so I can't comment on the balance of it.

It runs fine for me on huge. I toned down a few of the settings from highest > high and I average 30+ fps.

    My rig is...

    CPU: Wolfdale E8400 @ 3.5ghz
    GPU: ATI 4850 HD @ 625/993
    Ram: Corsair 6GB DDR2 at 5-5-5-15 @ 936mhz
    OS: Win 7 Ultimate x64

Beside having an e7200@3.4 and less ram we have the same rig. I m relieved about performance, thanks.

I beta tested for a bit and I had no problems with performance on an average rig !

The mod is tailored for 0 turn only for the moment but it works very well however i can only comment from when i played the beta last August , one of the team will give you better insight , but these questions have probably been asked in the RS2 preveiews and discussions thread a few times already !

AI turn length is no longer than it is for RS1.6. But graphics wise, you will need a more powerful rig to play at the highest settings.

The beta testers test the recruitment method they prefer. Most people do test with 0-turn though. And there will be no super stack clusters as there are now. 20 years in and Rome has about 4 full stacks. It is balanced out by the increased unit prices and upkeep.

There is a modfoldered version of the RS2 Main Campaign that is one-turn. The unfortunate thing is that very few people have tested it much. It may well be that the configuration of the 0-turn campaigns has resulted in a 0-turn game that plays a bit more 'like' one-turn, although I'm sure it's all a matter of perception. Still, the 0-turn campaigns are nowhere near the slug-fest that RS1.6 could be. That's maybe good or bad.....but just a fact.

I would be willing to test out a 1 turn campaign if it is still needed I sent a pm a couple days ago but I bet he has so many it got lost in the shuffle.

Well too bad... never liked 0-turn myself! Altho If the new economy system makes you earn just enough cash to limit the 0-turn recruitement craze from 1.6, it probably means you'll have plenty for 1-turn... or maybe too much

I'm not too worried, tho i'd have loved some feedback :p
