    Icon5 Heroes in custom battle?

    Hi,

I'm new to this mod, as I started playing it yesterday. I have a question, is it possible to add heroes in custom battle to use? For example Aragorn as a general in custom battle?

Could a unit be made with a hero as the banner carrier? (Aesthetic mainly)

Like I said: aesthetic, lots of people would appreciate that, if only someone would do it. (Hint, hint)

You could easily aesthetically have a hero be your general in custom battles. All you need to do is change the battle_model of the faction's captain in descr_character.txt found in your Third Age/data folder. Of course, the downside of this is that all captains for that particular faction will look like the hero you are trying to portray in custom battles.

Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
For example: To change your general to the Witch King for use in custom battles: simply open descr_character.txt and scroll down until you see this:

    ;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;;
    type general

    Underneath this line, look for:

    faction england
    dictionary 2
    strat_model mordor_captain
    battle_model mordor_captain
battle_equip gladius, chainmail shirt helmet and rectangular shield

Now change the line "battle_model mordor_captain" to read "battle_model witchking"

Now start up the game and you should see the Witch King as you general in custom battles.

*It won't look exactly like this, in the actual file there is much more spacing between battle_model and mordor_captain.

The same could be done using a units officer. Just change the line that is titled "officer" in the export_descr_unit.txt in your Third Age data folder to use the model of the hero you wish to portray. Of course the downside of this is that every single unit of the unit you edit, will have this hero as their officer.

Neither is a very good option if you ask me but, it's not at all difficult to accomplish on your own.

    Clearly has his priorities straight.
