I am wondering if people opt to turn this off. It gets a bit boring seeing all the AI moves every turn but it does give you a warning if a big stack i heading your way.
I suppose in a way its almost cheating.
Thoughts.

fortunately everyone can disable it themselves when starting a campaign or in the game setting as well (i think).
but you are right - it is boring. but cheating - no. because you only see the AI moves that are in your sight from
armies, settlements, spies, assassins (and merchants) and watch towers. thats all. everything that is out of your
sight wont be shown during the AI moves.
(since i always turn it out i don't remember correctly but it could be possible that you also see AI moves in sight
of your allies units, watchtowers and so on. but i don't really remember.)

Far less boring without priests, merchants and princesses wandering about doing their little animations.
I've been tempted to turn it off in the past but I need to know what's happening nearby.
Hitting space makes all moves faster; clicking only makes the current move faster (in case anyone was unaware of that).
<--- Unaware of that
Thanks a lot man![]()
Without hitting space it is devastating, with it it is informative and welcome.
I don't think I've ever played a Total War game with AI moves being shown takes too long and bores me. Besides if I really wanted to have a look at what's going on in and around my kingdom I can always take a look when it's my turn.
Tbh it's very annoying and I always turn it off![]()
it's not cheating but i turn it off as i gradually grew sick of watching enemies move after many hours of RTW.
I turn it off, I figure it could shave a good chunk of time from the wait time between turns.
Turn it on: I get bored waiting.
Turn it off: I rant at the screen when I see a unit of high elves standing in front of Goblin Town and I blame the game for not warning me to reinforce the settlement (Yes, I did that today then started swearing).
Sovs
For some reason I go for.
I normally turn it off. I'm in favor for anything that cuts down turn time, and playing with it on is almost unbearably long.
Clearly has his priorities straight.
I tried turning it off once, then an Isengard full stack disappeared in my lands. I didn't have any spies nearby to check it out and got ambushed.
Never again![]()
Did someone mention that the game isn't designed to be played without FOW?
"Show AI moves" feature is of undoubt value, and the minute you spend watching enemy moves could save a general life, an army, or a city, or even a whole game.
Of course, it could get very boring to disable FOW and then watching every single AI move in the world map, it could take several minutes and that IS cheating.
I always spend a lot of time / resources to have a good scout network, a contiguous line of watch towers on my country borders, so I gladly spend 1 minute per turn watching AI moves, planning my next turn in the meanwhile.
