Default The ultimate oblivion mod combination!!!

Well select every mod that u have or think that you should have and explain why they are the best.

    For me:

    1. Oblivion Race Balancing Project: Simply the best Oblivion race mod.

    2. LAME mod: For the best magic experience.

    3. Francesco's leveled creatures/items mod and Martigen's Monster Mod: The best creature and item mods.

    4. HG Eye candy body mod: Just makes them look more realistic. (I use the underwear option).

    5. A bunch of minor mods like Darker UI and better looking potion bottles for better aesthetics.

P.S. Could anyone explain to me how do I install Wyrebash it seams that a lot of cool mods require it.

Yeah, you can choose more than one it's the combination of all mods that counts.

I've only played OOO, but I'm looking for something along the lines of this:
Lots more special items, OOO covers this splendidly.
But I'm also looking for a ton of new monsters plus! a lot more encounters with them. So more battles with bandits, etc. I guess I'm looking for something more combat oriented.

I suppose if you're looking for the "ultimate" mod combination you could start with an FCOM setup and then add things on as you go, and try to keep it stable and working. Good luck, modding for Oblivion might be the only game where it's practically as much work for the end-user as it is for the modder.

I know but FACOM is just TOO unstable... Plus I really don't like OOO IMHO.

It's entirely possible to get a quite stable FCOM setup. This website is incredibly useful in order to make it happen (as well as for playing modded Oblivion in general). But, as you have suggested, not all of the changes in FCOM are to everyone's liking and it's a huge pain in the ass to get going, which for some is not worth the effort.

FCOM + Mighty Magicka + Improved Facial Textures + Bow Reach Fix (a necessity for me if I was to play Oblivion)
Do you play Morrowind? Do you like old castles, ferocious hairy beasts, expansive wintry forests, and killing dark elves?

Then check out Skyrim: Home of the Nords! A mod for TES III: Morrowind.

Is it even possible to combine Waalax with any of the other big mods without having to do a large amount of work yourself?

Wow finally finished, but it all works. Took like 5 hours to dl and install all of that properly. I also constantly backed up my data file in case I had a critical screw up on the way. Looks quite nice.

Indeed, and yet for me it also runs very slow. On a system that can handle modded Fallout 3 @ 1080p quite easily.

Well it runs fine till now for me but I still have to install the natural environment one.

I also added Supreme Magicka since I like to play a primary caster. It was that or LAME. If you have the steam version and can't get it to work send me a pm and i'll tell ya, you need to do a step not listed.

My system is hard to judge.

I got a mem error leaving me with 2.4 gig mem instead of 3.3.
Its a dual core 2.4 ghz
BUT I got 2 8800 1 gig GT's in SLI which helps quite a bit.

So for me 100% maxed its not bad using standard widescreen resolution. I do get a bit of a slight pause as something big loads in the distance, but I also have my view distance set at max for everything (I really hate seeing the grass magically pop up).

I'm quite pleased with everything so far, though which ever mod is adding all the farm animals gave them WAY to many hit points and they shouldn't be aggressive when they are hit but run away (instead you have a sheep attacking you and the like, they do almost no damage but annoying).

Still, on the vanilla quest where you help the 2 brothers with the goblins, OOO adds a goblin chief to that quest, and it was funny watching it battle a cow it accidentally hit.

I think it's Better Cities that really slows things down... Unique Landscapes a little bit, but not nearly as bad.

It might be my 896MB of VRAM is not enough for everything at once, while you have 2GB of buffer space which is more than enough for all the added/improved textures. Streamline helps out, but there's also the issue of the game engine itself being quite meh.

Have you thought about Open Cities and Almost Everything Viewable When Distant? That'll take you to the Danger Zone.

Nah, Natural environment mod slows it down for me, I ran smoothly with UL and Better cities.
