For most archaeologists this is an old but sad message, however I want to bring this up on a more public forum:
the Italian government wants to close the Scuola archeologica italiana di Atene because of cuts in the budget. The school is a hundred years and is one of the 17 foreign archaeological institutes in Athens, which greatly contribute to archaeological research (like the British School of Athens or the Deutsche Archäologische Institut Abteilung Athen).
There is a petition against this measure, hoping to build up some publicity. Join it.
