How do I upgrade my BIOS?
Hi all,
I have an HP machine with an Phoenix AwardBios v 6.00 PG
Does anyone know even IF a BIOS upgrade/update is available or what?
BTW, How do I look up my motherboard specs?
Thanks and any help would be appreciated!

Re: How do I upgrade my BIOS?
Need the HP model number to find info on the motherboard. It's unlikely a BIOS update can be found though. I had HP crap for my first computer and couldn't even locate the motherboard model anywhere on the internet. It was a Foxconn board designed solely for HP, hence the utter lack of support.
Why would you want to update your BIOS anyway? It's a lot of hassle.

Run CPU-Z to get your specs for your hardware. That will give you someplace to start.

Re: How do I upgrade my BIOS?
Updating Bios could be very risky it could make your system very unstable resulting ur motherboard to be trashed
.
Unless u are having problems with the old one you shouldn't flash it with a new one.
And like the above poster said use cpu-z to find out ur specs then post the model of motherboard and maybe we will help find u the bios upgrade.
