    Default Greeks in Bactria

Here's an interesting source on Greek enclaves in Bactria: http://tinyurl.com/greeksinbactria

It looks like we should allow the recruitment of Cretans and Anatolian-style thureophoroi (to represent the Pisidians) there.

This is a bit of quandry to me. There were an awful lot of Greeks who wanted to return home after Alexander died. Many of these were killed by the Macedonians.
Its hard to see the Greeks being that interested in going that far afield in any great numbers.
I do know that the Cretans were quite prevalent as mercs, especially in the Seleucid kingdom.
So having them out in Bactria does seem reasonably plausible to me. But in large numbers i'm not so sure about.
If you are going to allow the recruitment of these troops out in Bactria, perhaps they should only be in a few places. And perhaps called something else?

I know, that's what I thought at first, but I saw an e-mail from Duncan Head about it and he seemed quite insistent that there were Pisidians and Cretans out there.

Now, the Cretans I can see just from mercenary recruitment--we know that going to Bactria was a fairly common thing for Greek mercs. Not so sure about the Pisidians, but maybe they stayed out there when a lot of the others left. They were a little SE of Bactria proper, so they might have missed the news.

I think the 'Pisidian' thureophori should be recruitable only in Bactria proper, while we might represent the Cretans by increasing the number and spawn rate of mercs?
