Suggestion : Britannia 2

The Britannia campaign in kingdoms were my favorite, it was nice to have a large map of the UK/Ireland as well as having Wales as a faction. So I would like to throw a suggestion out there for the modders, about creating Britannia 2 which is Britannia only more elaborate.

For example, the map covers both the British Isles but also all of Scandinavia such as seen here





minus central Europe+Finland of course. ^^

The challenge of the Scandinavian factions early campaign could be to unite the petty kingdoms/destroy the rebels/make cease fire between themselves and then head for the British Isles. The same thing would go for the UK factions. United they would have an easier time fighting off the Scandinavians. In other words the game play would be somewhat similar to that of Rome.

The factions in Britannia would be weaker and would be forced to rely on numbers and the advantage of city walls and so on. The Norse factions would rely on great mobility and exellent infantry but with less troops so they would be forced to fight smart.

In the late campaign it would be somewhat more even. Stronger units in Britannia and more numerous Norse.


Does this sound like a good idea or what?

Sounds pretty good to me!! What period do you plan on using for this? Will it be like Kingdoms: Britannia and be in the post-viking age or will it be viking? I'd say viking would sound much better Didn't like the idea behind Vanilla too much.

How exactly is this a Britain mod if it covers all that?

I think a larger more detailed map of Britain with the extra inclusion of Normandy and Paris, and a part of Norway to also include the factions capital. plus the Shetland and Faroe islands of course, and a new France faction... Possibly a Flemish one too.

Perhaps also having two or three Irish factions...

Also keep the same period, the Last Kingdom and Wrath of the Norsemen will and will possibly include all that area during the Viking age.

The idea was to see a more elaborate version of the Britannia campaign in kingdoms. Even though I loved it I always thought the Scandinavian homelands would make a nice feature
At second though, this may be as Ace General says, a mtv2 version of Viking invasion, though I thought VI had a very different feel to it compared to Britannia.

The map would have had a large mass of water separating Britannia from Scandinavia, so travel time would add certain tactical elements to it.

Thats a map of the 1400s, not 800s.

I think all of Scandinavia should be included in the map since the Campaign is so faction specific. Maybe thats just my bias since I'm scandinavian, but I'm tired of seing 90% of the Scandinavian peninsula chopped off in all the other mods!
