Default How can I change Rome: Total war's language?

I bought Rome: Total war (gold edition) yesterday, unfortunately what I did not realize when I bought it was that since I bought it in Poland, the version I bought included only the Polish language. There is no option to change it back to English ingame, so is there any way I can change it to English?

I don't think so. In the meantime just have fun imagining a Legionary speaking Polish.
when the union's inspiration through the worker's blood shall run,
there can be no power greater anywhere beneath the sun,
yet what force on earth is weaker than the feeble strength of one?
but the union makes us strong.

Well it's not real fun playing the game then because I don't understand a single thing going on.
Campaign is pointless as I don't understand what any button does or what my enemies are telling me.
I can play some single battles but don't understand what the majority of my troops are for.

There must be a way to change to English.
Is there a language option in your game? If so, may I know where it is located so that I might check if I actually missed it?

Reinstall while selecting English is not possible on the Steam version? this is why i go for disks.

No I didn't buy it on steam, I bought the disk while I was on a trip in Poland and did not realised they made it a version where English isn't available.

every RTW can be set into main languages such as English, French etc. Are you sure that the Polish version has only the polish language?

I'm pretty sure. I couldn't find any option to change the language ingame and the installation was pretty weird as even if I chose English during the beginning of installation the installation process would happen in Polish (just kept clicking next ).

Roma Surrectum did overwrite all the text ingame from german into english - should work pretty same for
polish version. If you can't find any other solution it would be at least a partial one for you.

I think that you pick the language during installation.Maybe you should sell it and buy one at a English-speaking nation.

I am having kinda the same problem with the german version. Even though german is my mothertongue, I'd much rather play in english (especially since I dunno about compatibility between mods and foreign languages) but the game does not give me any options for different languages during installation...

I wonder if EB overwrites all the language files with english too... Anyone know?
