i need help and infos about win7

i got a brandnew pc, win7 home premium, a dual core i7500, sapphire hd 4350 1gb ram and asus motherboard etc...

question: how do i know if ati drivers have been installed, where do i have to check? and what about directx?

Or maybe win7 includes vga and directx drivers already on the installation??

i m new with win7 so hope you will help me guys...

To check, right click on the desktop and click on graphics properties. If you see the ATI logo in one of the tabs, then the ATI drivers are installed.

For DirectX, just click Start Run and type in "dxdiag" without the double quotes.

go to http://game.amd.com/us-en/drivers_catalyst.aspx

and download the corresponding drivers to the OS installed (i.e. windows 7 32bit, or windows 7 64 bit)

Windows 7 already contains video drivers, but those are not as up to date as the AMDs ones

The directx installed is the 11 version. Your card will not utilize it. Since it supports only the dx 10.1

It comes by default with all the older driectx, but that is not all truthful, since it really is good to go to the microsoft site and download the directx 9, so do it.

On graphic properties i dont have any ati logo or CCC catalyst
In dxdiag, under system submenu it tells me directX version: directX 11

In dxdiag, under system submenu it tells me directX version: directX 11

Windows 7 already comes with DX11 installed that's why gamers are going crazy over it nowadays to play games like dirt 2, AVP etc which uses DX 11.
But ATI HD 4000 Series supports only upto DX 10.
You should always download the latest drivers frequently as it improves gaming performance from 2 to 3 % sometimes. The current version for catalyst is 10.5.
