CVRIAL Commendation

The CVRIA recognises through this commendation the immense amount of work which the Technical staff recently put into getting the site online. Through lack of sleep and work, this was achieved. We the CVRIA thank them for this work in getting our beloved site back.

Seems rather useless. These guys are indeed doing a fantastic job and they do need recognition, but to start a Curia proposal just to say thanks? If you feel like it, send them a PM or something.

IT has been done before on TWC and in fact in the real world. its a way to thank them and to keep a record of the act.

In regards to the OP, good sentiments poor wording..

TWC is privately owned by Garb, so no he isn't paid for it. The site's only source of income is through advertising, and if Garb really wanted to he could turn the non-intrusive ads in to highly disruptive ones for the sake of making more money if he was that desperate for it.

Neither Sim nor I receive any income from the site. In fact the site actually owed me money there for a while, but thats another story. Another thing you should realize is that every time I make a physical trip to the server, it actually costs me money. Between gas and paid parking downtown an average trip to the server costs me about $25.

But this never has been and never will be about money. Sim and I do it because as screwed up as it sounds, we enjoy it, and it gives us skills that we might not otherwise acquire. Sometimes that requires a bit more effort than we would like, but that is the price we pay for volunteering for the job.

I wont speak for Sim here even though I am sure he will agree, we do not need a special recognition for this though we do thank everyone for the comments.
