Default Impossible to raise command stars

No matter how many heroic victories I achieve with my generals, and no matter how many experience chevrons they gain from killing thousands of enemies in hammer and anvil charges, they always seem to be stuck at 1 or 0 stars of command. For example, I had a general in my Pahlava campaign with 3 gold chevrons of experience and at least 20 battles under his belt, 4 of which were heroic victories, and he had ZERO stars of command. (Btw, I know about the "war weary" trait or whatever it's called that your generals get when they have fought too many battles. My general did not have that trait or anything like it.) Meanwhile, the AI generals, who probably have fought about 5% of the number of battles my generals have fought, seem to always have at least 4 stars of command. Isn't this kind of unrealistic?

Yeah, it is a bit unfair, but the A.I. REALLY needs those stars.
However, if you feel like you don't like it this way, you can change it.
I don't know if it's on here, but konny's command star mod should be integrated
    with the EB Mod pack.
What it does is basically cancels out the command star loss from traits
like "Aesthete" and gives you stars with the Green, Blooded and so forth
    series of traits.
    Try it out.

More important are traits which increase the moral on the battlefield. The command stars are mostly used to get the results in an automatic-resolved battle, but this feature is bugged in RTW and especially in higher campaign difficulties.

I see. I will go try that, then.

I see it as a little help to the AI, if you have a 6 star commander and a high quality army, you'll simply be invincible.

They AI is easy enough to beat, even with 400000 stars.

Actually I have managed to get a general to get 4 stars on his own with an extra 3 if he is attacking. It is rather hard and a result of lots of fighting and getting rid of useless ancilaries.

That brings a question thoug, what kind of bonuses do command stars give on the battlefield?
Any community that gets its laughs by pretending to be idiots will eventually be flooded by actual idiots who mistakenly believe that they are in good company.

yep, that would make a mere +7 attack and +7 defence and +7 morale for that 7 start general

getting command stars is not difficult, you need to follow 2 basic rules:
    1. fight battles, where the odds are either even or against you
    2. have your general personally kill enemies, better if they're not routed.

Leaving your prospective general in a city where the war deity has an awesome temple also helps, it gives in general up to 3 stars.
