    I dunno. Some of them are... off somehow. That might be because none of the artists above are native Japanese artists, though, I dunno.

    I can post pictures of Yayoi (500 BC- 300 AD) and Yamato (250-710 AD) if anyone is interested. This is my wheel house.

    Care to explain? They all look fairly accurate to me.

    I swear to God that his illustrations for historical figures are horrible, those look nothing like Nobunaga or Masamune and perhaps even stereotypical. I like the way he does the armour though.

    I'm not sure what is "off." I think the armor is well represented. His faces bug me, but that's not the purpose of these books.

    He is drawing armor that exists for visual reference in museums, not writing about the nuances of the tea ceremony, I don't see what his ethnicity/cultural background has to do with it.
