    Default Slow Film

    Hi Guys,

    Systems: Windows XP SP3

The upfront movies for the games is slow and in some cases stop, pressing ESC may take me to Game Menu, but not always as sometimes I have to hit kill switch. This does not affect only TW games, but anything with a film, such as Age of Empires 3. I have also noticed that MS Powerpoint, the pictures take along time to show, a slow reveal and as you type text takes forever to show.

    What have I done:

    1. Installed latest Graphics Driver for my Sapphire HD3850 512MB AGP
    2. Installed Bink Video Player and Media Player 11, this resolved the problem for about 72 hours, now it has gone back to above problems

    Any help greatly appreciated

    English Tyrant,

I have not d/l relevant software to be able to play DVD's.

How do I bump the Bink Player up the priority?

NJ - apart from the possibly useless suggestion of getting a new PC - the 3850 is pretty old now, AGP suggests an old motherboard and main processor.
( not all of us can afford a PC upgrade.)

it might be worth looking to see if there's any way you can bump the priority of WMP or bink player.
and use task manager to see if there's any background tasks that are using up processor time.

    have a look here - http://www.radgametools.com/binkfaq.htm

there's a couple of items that MIGHT help.

(other than that I have no idea - unless you can do something with task manager)
