And as well as that, try having some decent grammer and punctuation lessons.

Dude, I'm sorry to say this, but you are a newb. You need to know the moderate correct history of the era before you post about a historical mod. Please keep this in mind.

If he wants to do it, then so be it. Anyway, just because there is a mod already like it doesn't mean he couldn't make an even better one.

Honestly guys, let him post his idea if he wants. No need to bash over a simple idea, and while Diadochi: Total War is out it's the only mod on the period and subject of the Diadochi/Successors...look how many mods there are that cover the Roman Republic.

Anyways, would this mod be able to include Egypt for the Ptolemaic faction?

Seconded. Good luck with this.Add Thrace too.

I would suggest though rather than have nations, you use dynasties, as the Successor Wars were about personalities, the nations being mere playgrounds and sources of troops. An AOR system would be a good idea too.

I'm all for this. I've always wanted to play a Diadochi mod, but haven't tried DTW as I lack Alex and I don't want to fiddle around with my ExRM and RTR installations for them to work on the engine.

Yeah Diadochi TW was built around ALX exe, unfortunately we haven't supported BI and RTW extensively. The mod runs flawlessly on ALX exe, you can try play it with BI or RTW exes but you are likely to find stability issues.

I think that every new idea adds points to the TW series even if it is well written

    Area Of Recruitment.

I assume it works through hidden resources. The idea is that the troops recruitable in a particular province will be representative of how the people in that area waged war.

As well as this, the mods I've played have faction troops and AOR troops, though these are recruitable from different levels of barracks and the AOR recruitment diminishes as the faction recruitment grows (barracks upgrades also show how integrated into your faction that province is).

Happy to suggest army compositions for the lesser known factions.

    Polyperchon 20,000 Macedonian foot 4000 Greeks , 1000 horse 65 elephants

Cassander(Athens) 29,000 foot and 200o horse, Macedonian and Greek mercenaries.

Aiketas (Pisidia) 16000 foot, of which 6000 were Pisidan light infantry, 900 horse

Peukestes (Persis) 2000 Persian phalanx, 10,000 Persian missile troops, 1000 horse of which 400 are Persian, rest Greek light cavalry

    Eumenes
(Kardia) 20,0000 foot of local and Macedonian origin, some of dubious quality but also had 3000 argyrapsids. 6000 good cavalry, Cappadocians, Greek and Thracian.Disloyal cavalry commander did for him.

For Egypt leave out elephants, but add specialist anti-elephant light infantry. For Seleucids add a shed-load more elephants . Antigonos, son is known as "the Besieger" Worth adding a trait to reflect this.

You say you want to make the mod start in 316 or 319, but in those years Seleucus was simply the satrap of Babylon ,it would be quite useless to give him just one region. Then you totally forgot Eumenes, who was at war with all the other diadochi.

Then you want to make factions for Sparta, Rhodes, Athens. One region-faction against a great Successor kingdom? In RTW this ends in total annihilation of the small kingdom and with the increasing unmatched power of the Successor state.

There is a reason why in Diadochi Total War we decided to make the Wars of the Diadochi campaign start in 305: because starting before that year would have caused a lot of troubles. Only to say some of them:
-it wasn't until that year that all the successor states consolidated.
-before that year the only one to have a large, well organized and powerful kingdom was Antigonus. All the others were either too small or simply satraps, and this would have resulted in total unbalancement.
-starting in years like 316 would have forced us to make a faction for Eumenes. But he didn't have a real faction, he was basically a nomad with a well disciplined and loyal army fighting for his cause, and this would be quite difficult to do.

However there could be a solution for all these problems: massive scripting, like Europa Barbarorum.
You are right. Give factions ability to horde and have some anti-Antigonos factions allied to each-other?

The Faction Leaders (some of them anyway)
    Egypt: Ptolemy
    Thrace: Lysimachus
    Macedonia: Cassander
    Pergamum: Antigonus
    Selucid Empire: Seleucus

and now i think it would start in 319BC or 316BC.

and Alexander IV might be part of the Macedonian family tree. and if he is there would be a event that he is killed in 310BC if Cassander is alive.

The Faction Heirs (one of them)
    Pergamum: Demetrius

And in 307BC there would be a event that Alexander the Great's Successors would claim them selves kings.

And Pergamum would have some powerful armies at the start.

the map might grow to include more land and some new factions like india.
