battlefield 2 cd key

firstly no, im notasking for a cd key

what i am asking for is if anyone knows a way to retrieve my cd key from an older pc and installing it on my newer rig

problem is, i lost the box copy to a fire about 2 years ago, both the manuals and cds and quite obviously my key, and ive been running it using "other means", the same goes for every game i have before said fire, i tried looking for it through regedit but cant seem to find it

rep for anyone that can help!

a few more details: old pc is running windows xp 32 bit, and the newer one uses windows 7 64 bit

yeah, just spend the 20 dollars on a new copy because once the box is lost your CD Key is gone forever

You might find it in your registry here:

But apparently one of the patches might have further encrypted that part of the registry, so you may not be able to get it.

However, if you paste the encrypted version of your real key into where the the encrypted version of your fake key is, it might work.

Alternatively try googling "battlefield 2 key retrieval" or something like that, but I have a feeling most solutions will work on the same principles as above

Or mail them, but you'll prove to prove that you bought which is impossible unless you've got a receipt, and finding the CD-keys form games is illegal methinks.

or you could spend the measly 20 dollars to replace it and save yourself from all that

copying and pasting in regedit takes less than 20 seconds..

Granted $20 isnt a lot, but I dont see the point in spending it when a) he already has a key and b) he can probably retrieve it in a usable form.

ill give game+code for $40. Game has only been played 3-5 times so its as new a used game is gonna get.

Don't EA have an online steam-like shop thing? You could try logging in with your un and pw from the game.

first, i cant install the game because the cd's got cremated xD
second, i dont have my key to install with anyway, so yea... although i havent tried logging on to EA's account manager because i doubt theyll give me my key through that, and obviously i cant log onto it ingame cause of the first reason xD

You could try this here and hope to find your CD key listed in it. It basically collects various product keys from the registry from all sorts of applications. Hope it finds your key, good luck.
