Default Elendor - Lord of the Rings

I'm not sure if this goes here, or would the AAR section.

But anyways, I was just wondering if beyond playing the Third Age you Lord of the Rings fans were interested in role-playing in the world of Tolkien.

Thought I'd offer it if anyone wanted to check it out, it takes place in the thirty or so years that Frodo received the ring and 'hung out' until he was older.

www.elendor.net is the website. Though it has seen some better days. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elendor is another entry about it.

If anyone of you know what MUSHing is you'd know what to do. But other then that you have to download a MUSH client, and then put in the address.

Kinda like a pencil and pen D&D, but takes place in Lord of the Rings and is really fun.

So just throwing it out there if anyone is interested.

, 30 years can you even imagine hangin around for 30 YEARS , 2 5 or 9 years sounds more reasonable

    Sorry, I mis-typed.

It was not two years though. It was seventeen. Frodo was in his thirties and then left when he was fifty years old.

Regardless it takes place in that 'theme' and time during which the war of the ring is building. Officially it has gone beyond that. But it tries to simulate that time-period during the Third age.

well, he did hang out, but not for 30 years. it was nine years after he took the ring that he set off, in which time he was waiting for Gandalf's appearance

having just read the first book again, i'm pretty sure he hang out for atleast 20 years, as it's stated that the other hobbits began noticing him still looking like he was 33 (or thereabouts), when he reached his 50's.

Yes, it is a text based game.

It is a role-play game there to simulate the world of Middle-earth during that time period.

Basically you pick your race, choice a culture(Which there are many) and then join that culture. You design your character from there and interact and live life there.

There is also battles that happen too and a full combat system.

Though honestly you have to enjoy role-playing to get into the game.
