Hi everyone - I have Windows 7 Professional newly installed (a clean install), and so does my wife. For year, we've always had our comps on a home network (for MP games with each other and internet). We have DSL, have not changes our ISP, and when we switched to Win7 recently, our router suddenly was not working for internet.
We thought it might have been the router (Linksys), so we bought a new new (NTI). This is a wired network, not wireless. Our computers can network with each other now, but no internet as long as we are going through the router. When I disconnect the network cable running from the modem to the router, and plug it in directly to either computer, internet if fine. All the router lights indicate that all is working fine. I've accessed the router IP and took a look in there, but nothing jumps out at me.
Also, the Network and Sharing Center correctly shows that there is no internet access, no "diagnose and fix" Windows solutions are working.
Has anyone else experience router probs like this with Windows 7? Any suggestions as to what to do next?
Thanks ahead of time!!
Nanny
