Default Mod Switch on Mac Port

Hey, I'm using the Mac port of RTW, and everything works fine apart from one thing. Changing the target line is impossible, making using mod switch difficult and accessing the battle editor nearly impossible.

Now, for reference I've got the Diadochi - Total War mod for Alexander downloaded. It installed perfectly and works well when I open it from the installer, but the only way I can play it again after I quit is by reinstalling it and opening it from the installer again, as Mac doesn't have the same "properties" options as a PC does, meaning I can't edit the target line so it opens with the mod.

Any solutions? It can work when the mod includes it's own ready-made shortcut, but most mods don't.

I can guarantee that you can do it. At the very least go to the terminal and run RTW from there with the approrpriate command line arguments. Otherwise creating an alias should be able to do what you want.

How would I do that? I'm not familiar with the terminal.

Open the terminal cd to the directory with the exe and enter the exe with the command line argument you want to use. To make an alias google mac alias and see what comes up.

It keeps saying it doesn't exist, and I'm even using commands yet. Could you give me more exact instructions on how to open it, it's in my normal application folder but the terminal seems to be searching in the applications folder specific to my user settings, which only has two things in it.

As I don't know where the game installs or where you chose to install it by default I can't help. You probably aren't where you think you are, use the pwd command to find out your actual directory location in the terminal window.

It's in Mac HD/Applications/Rome Total War/Data, but it only searches in User/<My settings>/Applications. I've tired moving it to that folder, but it still says it doesn't exist.

How are you trying to switch directories?

Dictionary problem solved, I can run the game from terminal without command lines. But, when I try to use the editor...
