Hello Everybody,

When I install XGM with BI it says the patch is not compatible.
I tried to install patch 1.6 but then it says '' Rome-Total War - Gold edition is installed on this machine, this patch is not compatible.
Anyone knows what to do?
Please help

I had this problem when I 1st installed too, I also have the RTW Gold Edition, the problem for me was solved by manually pointing the directory XGM was to installed to. In my case:
C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War. Hope this helps

Don't follow? You don't install to the shortcut anyway, what do you mean?

All I did was when the installer ran, where it shows the directory it was to be installed to I chose browse, and then manually selected the above path, can't really explain better than that I'm afraid.

The problem is when the installer is finished it doesn't make a shortcut.
I have to make a shortcut with the right pad so I can lauch it.
Oh and the error doesn't show up anymore

Oh that's odd, was there a check box when you 1st started the installer with an option to create one, I can't remember.

When my installer ran I told it to use BI.exe, and that is where the shortcut target points to:
"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War\RomeTW-BI.exe" -show_err -nm -mod:xgm

this is written in the start in box:

"C:\Program Files\The Creative Assembly\Rome - Total War"

Might just be out of ideas on this one, at this point I would recommend a complete uninstall of RTW and try again, lookout for the option to create a shortcut. The shortcut icon that's created should look like the setup one, a bronze shield.

I've reinstalled it but it still gives the script error.
And I don't saw any option to create a shortcut

How are you launching the game if you have no launch Icon? And where are you looking for the shortcut icon?

Are you sure you have no icon on your desktop like this? If not, you will need to re-post in the bugs section and see if anyone else can help, a most unusual problem I think.

I have a problem looking like this.
When trying to install, it says, I haven't got the newest patches. I have RTW 1.5 and BI 1.6, which should be the right ones.
I tried to install it anyway, when I started it the first time, it's says it can't find a file named BI.exe(about that), so I pointed to it manually and it launched, but it just launched normal RTW, though without my save games.
I also had a change in my menu now. I can choose "Provincial campaign", but my only option in there is imperial campaign, which isn't Greek mod extended. The normal Imperial campaign button doesn't work, since it's says "choose one from the list".
What is wrong?
Btw, I have RTW gold.
