It probably just rubs it away with friction (rings rub against each other), not prevent altogether.

correct it did not prevent it it just loosened it and a soldier would rub it down with leather to clear the loosened rust

Wouldn't that gradually erode the material?
Also, did anyone ever try pouring seawater on legionaires to make their armour rust faster?

I don't think they had much time to pour water on them while they had a gladius waving in their face, also nope if you keep the rust off then it doesn't erode leave it on however and it will, also put it this way at this time the chainmail would far outlast the legionaire and probably the barbarian who took it afterwards.

So basically, a modern fire-fighter truck could defeat a Legion?

Fire-fighters are muscular men. Just look at their calendar photos, for example.

Easily; it would just run them over.
Also, fire trucks spray CO2, not seawater.

    Hi!
I haven't been following EBII for a while and I just wanted to ask:
    http://www.caballerosdeeuropa.net/mo...rum-2-t788.htm
I do not speak spanish, but i noticed the thread is about EBII. Are these past works or are they in anyway related to EBII?

If I get it right they actually just aggregated some previews of EB2, you can find them here: http://www.twcenter.net/forums/showthread.php?t=194571

No, the units shown there are not from EBII, I think they were done by some guy who ported them into M2TW from EB1 a while back, they crop up every once in a while to give EB fans a heart attack.

Edit: ah someone points out the mistake, the rest of the thread is, as XSarmatan says, a aggregation of our previews.

Still fairly excited over this mod.

The new provincial authorities system looks promising; will the internal politics of factions also be modelled?
IMO, the player of a Celtic/Germanic faction should actually have to act like the ruler of a tribal confederacy; not a despot.
