Everything looks great so far!!
Advance to Contact. Duffer Mod.
Just a few quick corrections you should implement, 1, as far as I know only the romans and chinese were utilizing crossbws at this time. The Arcuballista, let alone manu ballista, was much to complexe for even the romanized goths! The romano british may have fielded this technology yes, but it was not availible to barbarian cultures. also, Axes at that time were for the purpose of throwing only. It was not practical in combat against a shield wall or swordsman. The spear was always the basic tool of the barbarians, and only supported by the sword when the spear broke. In factthe romans eventually only started using spears. But beside these good job!!!
Do not mistaken that crossbow with a complex manuballista. It is a far more simple and less powerful design.
There will be Roman Manuballista Sagittarii.

IBRR is the next installment of the previous IBFD 7.03, it is the original IB mod that has been renamed to RVINA ROMAE. The next version ( 8.0. ) is not a patch, but a new stand alone version.
If you read the mod info on this page, you'll get an overview.
Everything you see in these previews are new-made and will be featured in RVINA ROMAE 8.0.
Did Saxons actually have crossbowmen?
What?Where is the evidence that Saxons invented their own crossbows? According to various authors of antiquity, the ancient Greeks (and later the Romans) had a very large and unwieldy type of crossbow called the gastraphetes, which required a tall prop to even keep it up and steady. The ancient Chinese during the Warring States Period had much smaller handheld crossbows, as evidenced by literature and the fact that there are crossbowmen in the Terracotta Army of the Qin dynasty (c. 206 BC). Bronze specimens of crossbow mechanisms from the subsequent Chinese Han dynasty have survived, along with written accounts that Han mounted crossbowmen were used against the Xiongnu (i.e. Huns) in the 2nd century BC.
When crossbows made a reappearance in Europe during the 11th-12th centuries, they were much like Chinese crossbows in that they were smaller and easier to reload than the Greek gastraphetes. Mounted crossbowmen were also introduced in the 13th century. AFAIK, the Saxons did not utilize the Greek gastraphetes and didn't invent anything that predated the later medieval European crossbow.
