Hi,

Just follow your mods advice
the user.script goes into the appdata folder, and it dictates what is supposed to load first.
Aside this it is a user generated, meaning you have to open the notepad and write the name of the ''mod'' (basically the name of the file that you just put in the game folder.

Thanks for this Mr MM
But it leads me to a further question, where do I find this appdata folder? I have found my NTW setup under "Steam/SteamApps/Common" in my Program Files directory, but can't see any appdata folder in there. Is it tucked away somewhere else, or do I have to create it?
Also, corollary. What happens to mod if I place it in the data folder, but don't list it in user.script, does it still run?
Thanks
Mike
You should be able to find it at:
C:\Users\YourName\AppData\Roaming\The Creative Assembly\Napoleon\scripts
Often this location is hidden so you may need to show all hidden files and folders, you can do the following...
If you have Windows XP:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
If you have Windows Vista/7:
Spoiler Alert, click show to read:
If the userscript isn't there, create it yourself!
For your other questions, if isn't in your userscript, it is unlikely to run, however some mods use a movie format, which doesn't have to be placed in the userscript, but it is rarely used. Oh, and once you've added the mods to the userscript, make sure to set the userscript.txt as read only to ensure the game does not rewrite it.

Muh signature is so out of date all muh pictures died.
Thanks guys,
But I've searched my C: drive (including hidden folders) and can't find any folder called AppData anywhere, nor even a C:\users folder.
I'm using WinXP, and the NTW install program seems to have placed the game in C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamApps\Common\napoleon total war. Should I be looking somewhere in there, or has the install created something somewhere else? (Such as under C:\Documents and Settings?)
Thanks
Mike
C:\Documents and Settings\USERNAME\Application Data\
Go from there.
Also if you can't find it even from there, you might need to play NTW (if you haven't already) for the folder to be created.
When the folder is eventualy found, in the scripts folder, like Lewis said, if there is not already a user.script.txt file, create one. Don't forget to save it as Unicode or it won't work.
Good luck! lol
Thanks Mitch, that gave me the details I needed. Found it.

whats up guys. im new to modding and i cant figure out how to write a user.script. i know exactly where to find the other script files from following directions above. but i still cant seem to create one. help me out here![]()
These guys have told you where it is so i wont bother with that.
If the mod is called, say machineguns.pack then add this line to your user.script
mod "machineguns.pack";
then save the file.
just substitute the machineguns.pack with the name of the mod.
