    How do I make rams weaker (or gates stronger)?

    Rams invariably seem to make it to the gates even if attacked by archers/ballista towers and it would be good to increase the chance of the ram not making it to the gate (or taking longer to get there/break through).

    I used to send a unit out on a suicide mission to slow the ram's progress but have noticed that the AI drops the ram and never picks it up again (or any other siege equipment) so have stopped doing this therefore a less potent ram would even-out this self-inflicted rule.

    I know this is not new but was attacked by 2 large armies (the second as usual had no siege equipment ) - the second army did not move for the whole battle.

    I can't answer your first question (actually, I can redirect you to the Mod Workshop), but to your second question I might have a solution. I noticed the AI more often sends it's second army to a breach than to a ladder, or a tower. I'm not certain though.

    I feel your pain. Best thing I would say is take a catapult or ballista out, shoot the ram, and run back inside.

    ballista towers and boil are useful to destroy rams but still it is not solution
    the best solution for defense is to have big army in city

    A better solution is to hold all cities, so that you can't be sieged at all.

    Defending the city isn't the problem - its easy to attack a ram with militia causing the AI to drop the ram forever but this seems like cheating. So rather than do this, and to add some variability, I'd like to know how to alter the ram's values to make them less potent (assuming the AI wont pick it up again....)

    In this mod the AI picks up the ram. No more bug abuse.

    uihh.... When your being attacke.d YOu have to wait for the AI To attack you. ( I Had the sme problem... The AI Would not move at all... GOt really Irritating.... ) So i'd recommend waiting a couple of turns for the AI To actuallly attack you...

    To make rams burn easier you need to alter a file called descr_engines which can be found in the data folder of the mod you are playing. Open the file using notepad and scroll down untill you find the lines below

    the line you need to alter is engine_ignition 0.20

    the higher you set the value the easier it will burn, but be careful because if you set it too high and have unit size set to huge it will burn too easy. the setting 0.70 is what i use for rams on huge unit level


    To alter gate strength you need to alter the file called descr_walls, open with notepad again and each wall or gate has a health value attacthed to it (see below)
