Firstly vote in the poll then read the following.
Ok now that you have voted I want to tell you what this thread is about. I love Rome Total War and it's my favourite game. I will never stop playing it. When I firstly saw it, I thought ''Oh my God this must be awesome''. Well, I was 100% right. Never have I played a game so exciting. The vanilla mode gives you a thrilling experience. After I found a site on the internet called RTW heaven I explored its content and found that there is something called "mods". Hell yeah, that's when I got deeper into the rabbit hole. I played some mods and I was very satisfied. But I didn't stop there. I learned to mod myself. I even merged the Alexander expansion into Rome. I now know many things about modding now and only advanced scripts confuse me. Plus, I know the limits of the game so I know how far one can go into modding RTW. So what I would like to do is gather a big team and create the ultimate mod. I have had many ideas about the theme and I will present them to you in a poll if the first one gets some good results.
This thread will continue step by step. You will see what I mean!

Might be best to outline your ideas first. Nobody will commit unless they know what they're getting into.

My ideas? Well my ideas are:
-RTW is a very promising game that shouldn't be abandoned.
-I would like to create a mod that people will be interested in.
-I would gather many modders specifically experienced ones.
-The new Total War games were disappointing in my opinion so we need something better.

    Now specifically about mods:
-Rome : Total War the Golden Age (A Rome 2 : Total War basically)
-Ancient Greece : Total War (focusing on Greece)

But what would be best is to do what the people want so I maybe add a poll when the old one is completed. about mod ideas and stuff
But first, I'll have to know how many play RTW in order to have some support. If the first poll doesn't come up with sutisfying results I will have to consider modding M2TW.

To be honest, there are many Rome enhancement mods that never even got off the ground. And the ones that did are now HUGELY sucessful mods like Roma Surrectum and RTR which would be extremely difficult to beat. And generally the best modders don't commit unless some progress is seen.

I'm not trying to stop you or put you down or anything, but so far, you haven't said anything REALLY that hasn't already been suggested. Short of modding RTW's actual engine (which I'm pretty sure is illegal), or coming up with a great idea, you are unlikely to get loads of interest straight away

This guy is right, we don't need any more enhanced imperial campaigns

And on the Greek mod, with mods like Hegemonia City States coming up, I wouldn't bother.

I recommend trying something original, or something that has currently only had the surface scratched of the timeframe.

    Examples;
    - Mesopotamia: Rise of Sumer/Babylon.
    - The Bronze Age Collapse.
    - Hittite: Total War.
    - The Nile: Total War.
    - Rise of Christianity/Islam: Total War.
    - Mayuran: Total War.

Their are many possibilities. If I had the modding skills/patience (I don't), I'd have tried to make a mod based on Sumer, Babylon and Akkadian city states.

    Seems right.
I donīt want any new mods. Better the ones not finished yet should be supported. There are some very good ones, but they lack manpower to get all factions/features done.

Their is a massive RTW community here, if you outline your plans, I'm sure they'll gather alot of interest quickly.

I like the game, and I really like BI, but I hardly ever play vanilla anymore, since I have a ton of mods that I think are better.
